.IE Domain Registration - Unincorporated Association
As you may be aware, .ie domain names are issued by the IE Domain Registry (IEDR). The IEDR sets rules for domain name registration.
---------------------------------------------------- UNINCORPORATED ASSOCIATION ---------------------------------------------------- An unincorporated association that is not legally obliged to have a registered business name (club, society, partnership) is entitled to register a domain name in this category.
Examples of situations where an unincorporated association application can be made are domains names similar to:
* Club or society name * Resident's association name * Partnership name
------------------------------- DOCUMENTATION ------------------------------- All that is required is a letter on your organisation's headed paper requesting the registration.
Eg: Dear Sir or Madam, MYORGANISATION wish to register the domain name MYDOMAINNAME.
This letter should be signed by the applicant and faxed to +353 353 1 443 0729.
NB: Before sending documentation, please ensure that you have checked the availability of your .ie domain name and ordered it. This can be done by registering your domain name here.
A quick guide to the categories and what documentation is required can be viewed here: http://www.domainregistry.ie/QuickGuideToRegistrations.php Full details on the IEDR policy can be viewed at: http://www.domainregistry.ie/RegistrationPolicy.php
